2nd kyu and higher

All testing for 2nd kyu and higher is conducted at regional quarterly training.

After reaching 4th kyu, students may enroll in Black Belt Academy. This demanding program prepares the karate-ka to take the shodan exam and also makes them ready to take on the responsibilities of becoming a black belt. As part of this program students learn the testing requirements for 2nd kyu, 1st kyu, and the dan exams. Black Belt Academy is held in conjunction with regional quarter training and select training camps.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the BBA program as they progress in their training. Requirements for 2nd kyu and higher are available in the ASKF Black Belt Manual, which is available for purchase at all regional quarterly training.
